"Live your dreams now,

instead of dreaming to one day live."

Suzette Greer, Founder, the balanced home

How I got started, where I've been, and what's coming next...

I first envisioned the concept for the balanced home™ in 2005. I wanted to reclaim beautiful rooms overrun with piles of stuff. However, my love for cleaning, reorganizing and re-styling stems back to my childhood. My family’s home was the perfect place to practice, and I’m sure my mom didn’t mind. I was probably the only girl in high school who subscribed to AD and House Beautiful by the age of 14 (I could have cared less for the celebrity gossip.)

The balanced home was born through my passion for creating calming and stress-free spaces. Over the past decade, my business has included in-person organizing sessions and public workshops. (You can expect to see some of those in the near future.)

My clients have always been varied. Singles, couples, parents with small and grown kids. Their homes have ranged from tiny to as large as 20,000 square feet. The one thing they all have in common: life gets busy, clutter becomes comfortable, and once open space begins to feel closed in.

What's Next?

Since each client is unique, a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't make sense. I’ve designed a wonderful tool called the balanced home balance sheet.™ I want my clients to feel understood and I want to recognize what’s important to each individual. This tool is an assessment and it sets the priorities of items, as well as highlights difficult decision areas.

My personal life includes three grown daughters and multiple four-legged & finned friends. I'm an avid Pinterest Pinner, dreaming of bucket-list traveling. I love to cook and you may have noticed my favorite colors are very ocean-inspired. The beach is my true and utmost joy.

Besides my organizing background, I'm a University of South Florida Business Marketing grad and a tech/website guru. And no surprise, I'm just as concerned with organization online as in the home!

One last tidbit. I am bilingual in Spanish and conversational in several other languages. I love learning about different customs, I have friends all over the world from different walks of life who keep my perspective fresh. Oh, and my ancestry is double Scottish. I've been secretly planning a trip to Scotland, hopefully very soon!
